Woman arrested for stealing girl at RCCG’s Redemption Camp

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old woman, Anuoluwapo Joshua,  for allegedly stealing a three-year-old girl, Patience, at the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Redemption Camp is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

It was gathered that the suspect allegedly stole the child in July 2017 during the monthly Holy Ghost Congress. She was apprehended on December 29 at a youth centre in the camp.

Patience was discovered missing in July after her mother returned from the new auditorium where she had gone to pack her children’s clothes, PUNCH reports.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said since then, efforts to know the whereabouts of the child had proved abortive.

Oyeyemi said,
“Luck ran against the suspect on December 29 when the child was sighted inside the Youth centre at the Redemption Camp during the children’s end of the year party, organised by the RCCG.
“The Divisional Police Officer, Redemption Camp Division, Olaiya Martins, led detectives to the centre where they waited until the end of the programme. As soon as the suspect came out to pick the child, she was promptly arrested.”

patience and her mother
Oyeyemi said the suspect had confessed to the crime.

He said,
“She admitted that she lured the child out of her parents’ sight and took her to Ofada, where she has been taking care of the child since then.
“Investigation further revealed that the suspect had earlier got pregnant for somebody in Lagos, but travelled to the North where she claimed she had been delivered of a baby girl.

“But when she returned from the North, she did not return with the baby. This made the man who impregnated her to put pressure on her to bring his child.
“She informed her relatives that she was travelling to Nasarawa State to bring the child, but went to the Redemption Camp where she stayed for some days before stealing the child which she presented to her relations as her daughter.”

Oyeyemi said the state Commissioner of Police,  Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta.

Twitter unverifies user after spat with Chrissy Teigen

A right-wing conspiracy theorist has been stripped of her Twitter verification after she posted photos of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's daughter and accused them of being part of a celebrity pedophile ring.

Liz Crokin, who has 50,000 Twitter followers and says she is an investigative journalist, posted the photos last week of 20-month-old Luna dressed in various costumes including a pineapple, hotdog and Alice in Wonderland.

According to Mailonline, Crokin also pointed out that Teigen had used a pizza emoji on one of her Snapchat photos of her daughter, linking her to the Pizzagate conspiracy theory that claimed Hillary Clinton was using a Washington pizza restaurant to run a child sex trafficking ring.
An outraged Teigen took to social media on Saturday to share screenshots of some of Crokin's tweets and to slam Twitter for verifying the alt-right user's account.

After a series of fiery tweets from Teigen and her husband John Legend - including some that threatened legal action - a disgruntled Crokin revealed on Saturday night that Twitter had removed her coveted blue verification tick.

'Twitter just unverified my account thanks to @chrissyteigen. That's OK cuz I care more about saving kids than I do about a blue checkmark!' Crokin tweeted.

Teigen responded to the news by tweeting: 'Praise the Twitter lords.'

'1000 people will tell you not to give them attention, to ignore it, who cares they're crazy, etc. Don't ignore it. Tired of letting these people get away with this s**t. Thank you, @Twitter.'

Will Smith reveals what he's learnt as he celebrates 20th wedding anniversary with Jada Pinkett

Star actor, Will Smith took to Instagram a few minutes ago to celebrate his 20th wedding aniversary with Jada Pinkett. He wrote
20 Years Ago Today we held hands and walked naively down that aisle. Here’s what I’ve learned since.
.
Love is Like Gardening... I have learned to focus on HELPING you to BLOSSOM into what YOU want to be (into what you were born to be)... Rather than Demanding that you become what my Fragile Ego needs you to be.
.
I’ve learned to take pleasure in Nourishing YOUR dreams... Rather than wrestling with you to Fulfill my Selfish Needs & Satiate My Insecurities.
.
I have learned that
Love is Listening.
Love is Giving.
Love is Freedom.
.
Happy Anniversary, My Queen! I am forever Devoted to Nurturing your Deepest Truth.

2017 was a tough year for me -Damilola Adegbite opens up in emotional post

Actress,Damilola Adegbite is ending 2017 in a reflective mode. The mother of one who split from her husband,Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh wrote
2017 was a tough year for me. One of the toughest of my life. My trust was betrayed in heart breaking ways and I had to go through some very painful overwhelming changes. But in all this, I am eternally grateful because who I am became crystal clear to me. Most importantly, I became more convinced that there is a higher power ( call it nature, karma, the universe.. I choose “GOD”).
A GOD who listens when called on and who fights for the patient and selfless. He gave me some things I thought I really really wanted, to prove to me that there is nothing impossible for him to do, but he took them away again, this time by force, because sometimes, what we want is not necessarily good for us. It’s an uncomfortable process, like a child being weaned, but it signifies growth and advancement.
I can’t deny that my scars are still healing, and I’m still a little dizzy from trying to adjust πŸ˜‚but ultimately, I am thankful for the opportunity to have been handed an almost brand new slate and for the courage to accept it. This coming year, if things aren’t going the way you planned, sometimes, you may just have to take some steps back or away and choose to look at things from a different angle.
I promise you, there is always a silver lining. When you are treated unjustly, you don’t always have to fight back or retaliate. Sometimes all you need to do is WALK AWAY from the situation. The law of karma will sort things out.
Watever happens, trust that things are falling in place as they need to FOR YOUR GOOD. Stay POSITIVE and CHEERFUL, train yourself not to hold on to anything or anyone too tightly and never let anyone or any situation dim your LIGHT. I wish you and your loved ones a prosperous new year. May 2018 be the best year of our lives so far πŸ™ I don’t know about you but I am super SUPER excited about my future πŸ€›

5 Killed, 13 Wounded In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has said that five persons died and 13 others injured in an accident that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.

Clement Oladele, Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, told the News Agency of Nigeria in an interview in Ota, Ogun State, that the accident occurred at Wazobia, at about 9.00 a.m.

Mr. Oladele said that two vehicles and eighteen persons were involved in the accident that resulted in the death of five persons while 13 others sustained various degrees of injuries.

The sector commander explained that a commercial bus with registration number MGD 129 ZF coming from Ibadan to Lagos, lost control and veered off the road and collided with a trailer with registration number DDA 121 XA that was parked by the road side.

“The corpses of the victims had been deposited at the mortuary in Ipara General Hospital, while the survivors are also receiving treatment at Sagamu and Victory Hospital, Ogere,’’ he said.

Mr. Oladele said that the driver of the commercial bus absconded immediately after the accident occurred.

UN issues red alert, warns world

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has issued “a red alert’’ to the world” ahead of the year 2018.

Guterres said: “On New Year’s Day 2018, I am not issuing an appeal. I am issuing an alert – a red alert for our world.’’

The UN chief, in a new year message, expressed regret that in 2017, the world went in reverse to the appeal for peace.

He said that when he assumed office one year ago, he had appealed for 2017 to be a year for peace.

“Conflicts have deepened and new dangers have emerged. Global anxieties about nuclear weapons are the highest since the Cold War.
“Climate change is moving faster than we are. Inequalities are growing.
“We see horrific violations of human rights. Nationalism and xenophobia are on the rise”.

As the world begins 2018, the UN chief called for global unity.

Guterres added that he truly believed we could make our world more safe and secure.

“We can settle conflicts, overcome hatred and defend shared values. But we can only do that together,” he said.

The UN chief urged leaders everywhere to make this New Year’s resolution: “Narrow the gaps. Bridge the divides. Rebuild trust by bringing people together around common goals.”

Guterres, who assumed office on Jan. 1, 2017, stressed that in 2018, “unity is the path” adding, “our future depends on it”.

“I wish you peace and health in 2018. Thank you. Shokran. Xie Xie. Merci. Spasiba. Gracias. Obrigado,” the ninth UN chief concluded. (NAN)

2017 has been the toughest year of my life -Toolz

OAP Toolz has opened up on the year 2017,calling it her thoughest  year ever. She wrote
2017 has been the toughest year of my life so far. Without a doubt, it broke me. I spent way too much time in hospital, and I hate hospitals. I went through way more than I thought I could ever handle, and there were times when I was in so much physical and emotional pain that I wanted to give up.
This year has taught me that EVERYONE will go through some type of adversity...we will all face things that will potentially break us.
You can and should pray against it, but ultimately we must also remember to pray for the  strength to get through what life will inevitably throw at us.
God never promised us a perfect life, but in Isaiah 43: 2-3 it says "When you go through deep waters and great trouble I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown.... For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel..your Saviour". 2017 broke me, but I'm grateful for the grace of God that put me back together again. I am eternally grateful for the special people He placed in my life that helped put me back together.
My circle got a little smaller, but like someone told me a few months ago, every now and then God gives you the opportunity to spring clean your friendship closet...and that's a good thing.
2017 was my year of INTENSE  TRAINING and GROWTH. I'm still healing, but I feel FEARLESS.
Through great adversity comes strength and opportunity. If you had a difficult 2017, take comfort in the fact that you are still here...alive and able to experience another day. You may have been knocked down, but you are still here so YOU WON.
I'm excited for what 2018 holds. By the grace of God I will be launching a project that I finally got the courage to finish.
2018 is about to be a VICTORIOUS Year...and I'm so READY for it.πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ #GRATEFUL #STRENGTH #THANKSGIVING #BRINGON2018πŸ’ͺ #GodsGotMeALWAYS
