Pregnant Woman Stripped And Battered For Taking Native Precautions Against Witchcraft In Her Compound

Not bothered about her state, a pregnant woman, Mrs Chioma Nologu was recently stripped and battered by her neighbours for allegedly sprinkling some substance gotten from her spiritual father. Nologu, is said to have gotten the items over witchcraft attack allegedly planned to harm her by co-tenants.

Police has since arrested the neighbour, Edozie who has now been charged before a Lagos court for assault and remanded in prison custody. The incident happened in the Ikotun area of Lagos state.

According to P.M.EXPRESS, the woman was given a substance from a cleric in her church in a bid to protect her against any harm from her co-tenants. She was directed to sprinkle the substance for 21 days before delivery otherwise that she might die in the process. She however encountered issues on the 3rd day .

Trouble started when Edozie’s wife had a bad dream concerning their two children, she in turn told her husband who assumed it was as a result of the ritual by the victim. Edozie however confronted her, on the third day of her sprinkling the substance, collected it from her, mixed it in the plastic with water and threw it away.

He also attacked, battered her, tore her clothes and she was naked before their neighbours intervened and she ran into her house.
 Edozie was arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrates court for the alleged assault under the Criminal Code. He pleaded guilty to the charges.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.O Adedayo granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 22nd of August 2017.
