A Delta State High Court sitting in Issele-Uku has sentenced to death killers of Diokpa Felix Boise, the 75- year- old uncle of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu.
The court sentenced the three defendants – Sunday Luka (32), Danjuma Kaika (37) and Luka Agu (33) – who all claimed to be from Nasarawa State to death after they were found guilty of killing the septuagenarian.
The trio murdered the victim in his farm on June 9, 2014 and carted away his Kia Rio car.
The three defendants who used to be labourers in the deceased farmer were arraigned on four- count charge of conspiracy to commit murder, murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Justice C.I. Ogisi while delivering the verdict said the punishment for the offence was mandatory, adding that he lacked the discretionary power to mitigate the sentence.
Justice Ogisi, who convicted the 1st and second accused persons on all the charges, discharged the 3rd accused person on count 2 and 4 but was convicted on count 1 and 3.
